Having responded directly to the query (mentioning OhioLINK's
resolver), I do want to respond to Chuck's closing comment
about national-level open url resolvers. The reason is that we all
go to different places for the same or similar content. A national
level resolver that sent my users to ProQuest for content that
they have through EBSCO (or some other provider) would be
frustrating at best.
The laboriousness comes from the fact that each institution has
different access rights to different resources. Within OhioLINK,
where we have a substantial body of archived e-journals, maintenance
of the tables for the central resources are handled centrally and we
(participating institutions) focus on all of the other sources we have
for full-text titles.
