Hi,
The recent sending of 3 separate emails to lis-e-journals by Susan Soule
of CUP, each one highlighting an individual new CUP journal title, runs
counter to the rules of this list. One combined posting would have been
acceptable, but not 3 separate postings!! If other publishers were to
follow this example, we would be all be drowned in a flood of new
titles.
As you all know, lis-e-journals is a JISCmail discussion list promoted
by the UKSG for librarians, publishers, agents, intermediaries and all
parties involved with electronic journals to discuss matters relating to
e-journals provision, including administration and management,
licensing, access, usage statistics, consortia deals, etc.
As list owner, I welcome participation by all members of this list in
the discussions which take place. However, may I remind commercial
members of this list that it is not appropriate to use lis-e-journals as
a means of promoting your products and services. Use of the list for
this purpose runs counter to the JISCMail Acceptable Use Policy, details
of which can be found
at:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/help/policy/index.htm
In particular, I would like to draw your attention to Section 4 of this
policy: Posting Promotional Messages
Cheers
Lesley
