Position: GIS Data Capture Assistants
Location: Lincolnshire
Rate: up to £6.25/hr - dependent on skills and relevant experience
Duration: 6 – 9 months
Start Date: ASAP
A requirement has arisen for several data capture assistants to assist in
the process of turning paper maps and related data into digital form for
use in the system. With this data GIS allows the creation of models of the
environment and of the cumulative impacts on the environment, it
facilitates map analyses that would otherwise be too cumbersome to attempt
and allows planning at a high level based on site specific criteria. It is
envisaged that there may be the opportunity to undertake this work from
home after an initial period. Any previous experience of data capture or
MapInfo would be an advantage. A clean driving licence is necessary as
there may be the need to work in remote parts of the county. Training will
be provided as required.

To ensure the latest Ordnance Survey datasets are utilised at all times
