HI, not directly related, but there are authorities, (including GSCC),
who are insisting that students go to accredited centres.  Great, good
quality assessments are both helpful and essential.  However GSCC
won't pay for me to get there, and I've got to go to London from
Chippenham for an assessment.  Furthermore because my guide dog is
about to retire, I've got to take and therefore feel honour-bound to
pay for an escort to go with me.  The train fare, (including Disabled
railcard discount is over £50, coupled with the necessity of eating
once, it's going to take more than half my benefit for the week.

good luck with getting accreditation, and could I urge as many of you
as possible to seek the accreditation, in order to alleviate travel
problems for potential students with disabilities.

of QAG inviting us to submit our details to that body with an
assurance
that we undertake to meet the Centre / Assessor Criteria by April
2004...and that this list of Centres accredited to undertake DSA
assessments will then be circulated to LEAs and other funding bodies
commissioning DSA Assessments...presumably with DfES authority behind
it...

Which leads me to my question...following a discussion with the father
of a potential student from Scotland I wonder if anyone is aware of
any
move to employ this list in relation to DSA assessments for Scottish
students too?
