The Constitution Unit and Capita are hosting the Access to Information Conference on 14 May 2003. 100 people have already registered and there
are a limited number of places left because of venue capacity.
Speakers
Anne Brennan, the Director of Information and Security Policy, at the Treasury Board Secretariat is confirmed as the international speaker. The
Treasury Board has policy responsibility for foi at the federal level. Ms Brennan will cover Canadian experiences of developing foi training and
support networks and resources for foi practitioners. Other key speakers include Richard Thomas, Information Commissioner, Maurice Frankel
(on procurement and commercial confidentiality) and Norman Baker MP (on his experience as a requester)
Workshops
We will be running foi workshops in a parallel afternoon session to allow you to practise dealing with requests in a small group environment. You
can also choose to attend workshops on publication schemes (Mike Kendall, West Sussex CC) and records management (Duncan Simpson)

The Constitution Unit has published the second edition of the FoI newsletter. It is available in PDF format on our website
