Hello Mark
I think cost is the reason why we are looking at anything other than
Winzip.
We are currently putting together a staff training session about using
Powerpoint in Blackboard. If we recommend staff to save Powerpoint
files as html(appears to be the preferred solution) then they must zip
the files that Powerpoint (xp) creates - however none of our networked
zip files seem to do this properly - only our local copy of the 21 day
trial version of Winzip ! Before we purchase a site wide licence for
Winzip we want to ensure that it is the best (and cheapest :) ) tool -
bearing in mind that one department here uses only macs and advising
lecturers to complete the task on a PC is not really the most elegant
solution.
I'll let you know what we come up with and would be interested to hear
more from others about this as Powerpoint appears to be one of the most
popular resources for uploading to Bb in UWB at the moment.
Plus whilst I'm here - Has anyone inserted movies (.avi) files into
Powerpoint then run this through Impatica - what's the result been like?
Regards
Sian
