Does this still work if you e.g. copy the course?

Subject: Re: Discussion boards - customisation?
It's not quite what you asked for, but were you aware you can include a
link to a discussion board in announcements (or any other part of
Blackboard)?
1. Go to the page with the link to access the discussion board you want
2. Right-click on the link
3. From the menu, click on Copy Shortcut
4. Go to CONTROL PANEL > CONTENT and select (or create) the page that
you want to insert the link in
5. Paste (CTRL + V) the shortcut you have copied in the appropriate
place
6. This is normally a long, incomprehensible link so it can be tidied up
by inserting the appropriate html...
Discussion board
Just insert the full web address instead of the word link (keeping the
quotes). You can also change the text Discussion board to whatever you
want.
Two other ways you can use this is to link to a particular thread in the
discussion (although some would argue it's better for users to navigate
to this). It can also be used to link to particular resources you have
uploaded as attachments. As with web pages, however, there are problems
with such deep links. Should you load an updated version of this, its
address changes so the link will no longer work! This is because, at
Version 5 at least, Bb is not really a full content management system.
Apologies if you were already familiar with this but I have found it
extremely useful since I was introduced to it a couple of months ago. I
have used it extensively in our e-Reflections course for online tutors.
