Clive,
Came across this problem this morning working on an eval copy
(6.0.10.40). Could not get rid of the BBC page no matter how many times
I closed and reopened the session (3 re-tries in total).
Went into the Lightweight Chat and found the Lecture Hall session data
shown there. Cleared the session, closed Lightweight, went back to
Lecture Hall and the BBC had gone.
best,

After bad experiences of the VC in BB5.5 we were keen to start using
this
in 6. We ran a test today between two users (one of campus) and have
run
into a problem right away.
We had read in the user group that some websites took over the window
completely and prevented further work in the lecture hall. We tried
one
such known site www.bbc.co.uk which is a site widely used in education
in
UK. It behaved as expected and took over the window. We cannot
control
where anyone browses to and therefore there needs to be something
built
into the java which prevents sites from doing this.
What is MORE worrying is that returning to Lecture hall after having
cleared the browser cache, closed the browser, re started and logged
back
into blackboard - the lecture hall displays for a few moments and then
is
replaced by the BBC site! We had not enabled logging even so this
should
not be retained. This is very serious as we cannot tell which sites
people
need to avoid and entering the wrong one appears to render the lecture
hall permanently useless for that module.
To make matters worse I cannot find a way of disabling the lecture
hall
through admin panel WITHOUT disabling the lightweight chat as well.
I have raised a ticket with BB and will share the reply when received
