Not sure whether this is related or not but we saw something similar
recently - one user was posting ppt files that were regularly corrupted when
viewed by the students. The cause turned out to be incorrect proxy settings
for their NTL account which took quite a while to diagnose.
So, even if this isn't related to the current problem, it's worth others
knowing about this!
