The latest CASE Newsletter is now online at
http://wwww.bath.ac.uk/ncuacs/casenl9.htm
It is devoted very largely to the 'Future Proof' international scientific
archives conference held at Edinburgh University Library in early April.
The conference was sponsored by CASE, the Commission on Bibliography and
Documentation of the IUHPS DHS and Edinburgh University Library and
brought together some forty colleagues from around the world to consider
various preservation and access issues in scientific archives.
The Newsletter presents a short overview of the conference and the programme,
with links to a good representation of conference papers. Physics
archives seem to have done particularly well with perspectives on high
energy physics (CERN and Stanford Linear Accelerator Center), the work of
the Niels Bohr Archive and the American Institute of Physics's recently
launched project on documenting physics in industry but anthropology,
environmental science and molecular biology also feature. National
perspectives are available from Poland and Spain (Catalonia) while
electronic access is represented by British and German projects.
