Collections of the Month: May 2003
4th May is International Dawn Chorus Day, so this month we're featuring
archives with ornithological content. The day jobs of the creators of these
archives encompassed steel manufacture, espionage, and surgery - but all
also spent time studying or drawing birds

Funding boost for the Archives Hub
MIMAS is delighted to announce that it has recently received confirmation
that the Archives Hub service will be funded for a further three years by
the JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee). This funding will include
money for content creation, and a new 'Call for Content' will be issued
shortly, inviting UK higher and further education institutions to bid for
funds. Funding will be available for the creation of descriptions of
collections in the same way as in previous calls (see
<http://www.jisc.ac.uk/index.cfm?name=circular_4_01> for the text of an
earlier call). A further message will be sent out when the new circular is
published.
Best wishes
