Although primarily aimed at doctors, this may be of interest to
epidemiologists, especially in view of the difficulty of obtaining a
diagnosis and hence the tendency to under-report. Lack of reports then
militates against GPs suspecting and diagnosing the condition. Hence
statistics are very biased. Several leading medical experts from the US
will be attending.
Tick Borne Diseases - Second UK Conference
PGEA approved
20 to 21 June 2003
at York St John College
York, UK
http://www.yorksj.ac.uk/Default.asp?Page_ID=431&Parent_ID=446
Following a successful first conference in Hull, 1 & 2 September 2001, the
organising group agreed that further events were needed to bring together
medics, researchers and patients who appear to suffer from vector-borne
zoonoses. These may be diagnosed as 'Lyme disease' but one of the aims of
the conference will be to clarify the diversity and diagnoses of diseases
contracted within the UK.
The second conference will be held
Fri. 20 to Sat. 21 June 2003
at York St John College
conveniently located in the centre of historic York, UK.
