This post is available immediately for a fixed term of two years in the first
instance with the expectation of renewal. The Institute is one of the UK's
leading groups (double 5* RAE) involved in teaching and research in
Transport Studies. You will have responsibility for leading the research
support team within ITS and in particular the contractual and financial
administration of a substantial portfolio of European funded research
projects.
Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, you should have
excellent organisational, negotiating and communication skills. First rate IT
skills, particularly spreadsheets, are essential and knowledge of
management information systems (e.g. SAP) is desirable. At least three
years’ experience of research project administration is required, preferably
within the HE sector. Although financial qualifications are not essential for this
post, you must be able to interpret and communicate effectively financial
information to staff at all levels, be numerate and able to work accurately with
figures. An awareness of HE research funding issues and/or previous
experience of EU funded programmes would be an advantage as is
knowledge of contract law/IPR. A team player, you should be flexible in your
approach to work, and have competent time management skills in order to
meet deadlines.
Salary will be Admin Grade 2/3 scale (£21125 -£33679) depending on
qualifications and previous experience.
