Wouldn't it be good if people reported problems to us?
I believe it worked OK at IDL V5.6 but the licence on our installation no
longer works so I'll have to get that sorted out to re-check, and possibly
get updated to IDL V6.0.
It would be helpful to know what platforms, versions and commands were
thought not to work - and why someone thought it was unfixable without
reference to us. I would hope that simply changing a header file might do
the trick.
Having said that, the conversion to FITS route is not unreasonable for the
simple read and write NDF case but there are a couple of commands, hds2idl
and idl2hds, which may be in use to handle more general structures.
Regards
Alan
