Hello-
When I segment an image with SPM2 it generates a homogeneity bias corrected
image ('m'+filename). How does this compare to pressing the 'bias cor'
button (which also creates a bias corrected file ('m'+filename).
I note that the segmentation asks whether the images have been normalized,
while the 'bias cor' does not, though perhaps the additional power gained by
knowing the image is normalized is only used by the later stages of
segmentation. I notice that these two ways of creating bias corrected images
show pretty different displays.
I tried both methods on the same (pre-normalized) image and got comparable
but not identical results.
The only reference I would find to this issue was:
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind0302&L=spm&P=R55549&I=-1
and it does not say whether the same technique is used by the two methods.
thanks as ever,
-chris
