CALL FOR PAPERS for ABMMGS 2003: 2nd Announcement
Agent Based Modeling Meets Gaming Simulation
- Special Workshop on ISAGA2003 -
=======================================================
Notice: Deadline of abstract is postponed until 1st April
(1) ISAGA2003
ISAGA2003 ( The 34th Annual Conference of International Simulation and Gaming Association ) is held on August 25-29, 2003 at
Kazusa Academia Park, Chiba, Japan .
(2) ABMMGS 2003 Workshop
In the ISAGA2003 conference we organize a special workshop called ABMMGS ( Agent Based Modeling Meets Gaming Simulation )
on August 26 or / and 28, 2003.
(3) ABM meets GS
This is first international workshop about interdisciplinary research between agent based modeling (ABM) and gaming simulation (GS).
ABM is a modeling method for complex systems with decision makers. In ABM weuse computer simulations in which many software agents are included. We also use learning and evolutionary method for describing software agents. Software agents act as real decision makers. We analyzesocial, economical and organizational systems by using ABM. ABM is now developing as important tools for policy and decision making and designing tools for human activity systems. Artificial society , economy and market are also application area of ABM.
On the other hand GS has long tradition of education, policy making and design tools. In GS we make a model of various situations of social andeconomic activities in which many human agents are included as players.
GS and ABM have almost no connection between two research communities excepting Japan. In Japan two communities interact with each other and developed original methodology. We believe that GS is useful for ABM because GS gives validity and real world grounding for ABM simulation. ABM is also useful for GS because ABM make it possible to construct more complex and agent aided gaming simulation. Gaming simulation with human player ( Player Character :PC) and software agents (No Player Character :NPC) create new frontier for gaming of actual society and economic systems.
(4) Call for Abstract
We call for presentation on the workshop which are related to both ABM and Gaming Simulation or its methodology.
For example:
* Hybrid Model of ABM and Gaming Simulation
* Model docking between ABM and Gaming Simulation
* Methodology for ABM and Gaming Simulation
* Design of ABM depending on Gaming Simulation
* Design of Gaming Simulation depending on ABM
* Real World Grounding of ABM
* Software Agents for Gaming Simulation
* Application of ABM to Social Sciences with Decision Makers

About ISAGA 2003:
====================================
Main theme of ISAGA 2003 will be "Social Contributions and Responsibilities of Simulation & Gaming," in that we seek to explore the possible domains of our research and educational projects withinthe context of dramatic changes in information and communication
technologies. At the same time, we hopeto create an opportunity to reflect upon the Association's past activities, and to redefine
our "contributions and responsibilities" from an Asian perspective.
