I think that the current list works very well, it serves as a good
introduction to the field of science communication and allows a person who
is new to the field to gain knowledge of both activities within the field
and the types of jobs available within it. As a student who has been on the
list for some time I have found it useful to be able to observe and take
part in discussions occasionally whilst considering my approach to job
hunting in this area. I think that if the e-mail list were separated into
two some people would inevitably only belong to one, and as a result they
wouldn't benefit from the experience as much as I have done.
If any jobs do arise on related e-mail lists, wouldn't it simply make sense
to forward them to the list (with the necessary apology for cross-posting)?
Some of the jobs advertised of late haven't been directly related to science
communication but have nonetheless been posted by some members, which has
been very useful for me at the least.
I hope you find my comments constructive, regards
Marianne Field
