Techniquest Science Discovery Centre, based in Cardiff Bay, is seeking additional
staff to join its successful Musiquest team on the development of an exciting 2 year
project, funded by ReDiscover – the science centre and museum renewal fund.


Musiquest Project Officer £15,000 2 year contract
 The Project Officer will be responsible for running current Musiquest programmes
within the Techniquest education programme and for the development of two new
and unique programmes.  Working with both school and public audiences, you will
deliver a range of educational programmes to support the interest of these groups
and the National Curriculum.

With a first degree in music, a science-related subject or education, you must have at
least 1 years experience of working in the informal education sector and have a
strong interested in music education.  Practical experience in teaching, presenting or
performing to a varied audience would be desirable.


Musiquest Exhibit Developer £15,000 2 year contract
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the research, prototyping,
testing and evaluation of individual exhibit concepts. You should be able to
demonstrate practical engineering experience, be self-motivated, able to carry out
research related to exhibits, have up-to-date computer skills and an interest in
communicating science and music.


Musiquest Administrator £15,000 2 year contract
You will be responsible for initiating, coordinating and delivering the clerical and
secretarial functions required in the effective administration of a major development
grant.  You must have a proven administration background, a good range of
computer skills and a minimum of 1 year’s experience in a similar administration
role.


Project Engineer £20,000 Initially a two year contract
Techniquest develops a range of interactive science based exhibits, which have a
reputation for looking good, attracting the interest of visitors of all ages, and being
sufficiently durable to work reliably for extended periods.  Techniquest is seeking an
experienced person to manage a range of exhibit development projects and a multi-
disciplined team.
You will have a degree in Engineering, in particular Mechanical and have the ability
to generate new ideas, a track record in technical problem solving, manage people
and budgets.


Electronics Engineer £18,000 2 year contract
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in electronics, have good
technical problem solving skills enabling you to design and develop the electronic
systems used in our interactive exhibits. Practical experience of analogue and digital
circuits, PIC programming and PCB design is essential to this role.


Design Engineer £16,000 Initially a two year contract
As part of the exhibition development team this individual will take concept designs
and, working directly with the Project Engineer and Techniquest’s in-house
workshop team, turn them into interactive exhibits.  Using your hands-on
engineering experience you will solve technical, mechanical and aesthetic
challenges.  You will be educated to degree or equivalent in mechanical
engineering and have a good appreciation of design.  Experience of 3D CAD,
engineering drawing and design documents is essential to this role.
