I know the people who did the PR for Dolly the sheep for a while.
This would be a somewhat different view on the issue. The Public Engagement
with Science and Technology (PEST) community seems to ignore PR folk. A bit
odd given that they are paid squillions to do the same sort of thing.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] looking for speakers on "biotechnology and media"
Dear PSCI-COM list members
In September this year the Journalism Department at the University of
Stellenbosch (near Cape Town) will host a "Media in Africa" conference. I
am looking for suitable key speakers / workshop leaders in a sessions that
will look specifically at BIOTECHNOLOGY and the media in Africa.
I am interested in local and foreign speakers with extensive experience of
the relationship between science and media, specifically in the field of
biotechnology. There is a possibility of sponsorship to attend and
participate in this conference.
If you want more information about the conference, go to
http://www.sun.ac.za/journalism/konferensie.html
If you want to suggest a potential speaker for this specific session, please
contact me.
