The Dolan DNA Learning Center of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Long
Island, NY, also develops extensive genetics resources and protocols and has
been the model for centers like this.

Dear PSCI-COM, PCST, SASCON list members
I am preparing a proposal for local (South African) funding to set up a
"hands-on" biotechnology lab where secondary school students can get some
experience of biotechnology and its applications (such as extracting DNA),
etc. I would really value the opportunity to "talk" on email to anyone
involved in the running of such labs for the youth/public who may be willing
to give us some advice about the establishment of such a facility (probably
within a university or existing science centre).
