lot also. Well, if that's the dumbest mistake I'll ever make I'll be pretty
happy.
I meant to include in my previous message that an ancient scholiast records
that the chorus of Eumenides in the original production of the Oresteia was
so terrifying that women had miscarriages and young boys died on the spot
right there in the theater.
And thinking more about Apollo as lawyer: the first rule of rhetoric is to
know your audience. So we should see the arguement about the greater
importance of a father than a mother as being one which he realized would
appeal specifically to Athena, for obvious reasons.
