Seems like yesterday I was watching fireworks blast open a new century over
a glittering Monterey Bay. Now, four years later, I find myself picking up
cactus ears that fell off due to an odd over night freeze in the desert of
southern Arizona (gloves give little protection from hair-like thorns) as I
plan putting on a party hat with my grandson later tonight.
Good luck and best in 2004 to All!

Subject: happy new year
Well, it's the witching hour here, which means, if I can ever
figure out the time, that those of you in that part of the world
where the light first appears must be stumbling or dreaming
your way toward the new year. So happy New Year to everyone,
in every continent, and may the double-faced god smile upon
all your undertakings,
Best,
Rebecca
