I must say, I liked the "Hare, hare..."
What disturbs me about Fireman Sam though, is that the song praises him
for "putting on his coat and hat / in less than twenty seconds flat".
Once I did a demonstration for my son, taking twenty seconds to put on a
coat and hat. You have to try very hard to do it that slowly.
Someone asked me what lower number could have been chosen that would
scan in the song. Answer: seven. I would feel far more reassured if Sam
got dressed in under seven seconds. Still, if I didn't have that to
worry about, I'm sure I would find something else.
