the tree alphabet in _white goddess_ is my favorite part and there
are demons leaping between them (truly, there are demons in the
alphabet forest)
The philosopher, Nick Land, last seen taking a line of flight from the
University of Warwick, was said to have woven parts of Graves _The
white goddess_ into his philosophy doctoral thesis on Derrida. I don't
know if that piece of gossip is true or not but I like the story and it
really helped to explain some of Nick's stranger writings to me which I
greatly admire.
As for a male muse... perhaps the goddess is a non-human sex as Ulrichs
says in his vampire tale and I most certainly would enjoy being a priest
to the goddess Cybele.
best wishes and I must go do more novel writing so I can get that book
out of my hands and into the hands of a copy editor followed by an
obscure publisher somewhere instead of playing with this part of my
writing machine.....
Chris Jones
ps... the Ulrichs (spelling and name unsure) story can be found at:

and i think is called "A manor tale" ... if you are into the history of
gothic it is an interesting story to read.
