I'll just say that the last tims U Stirling had a poetry conference, it was
on Poetry and History, & was terrific, with a number of interesting people
present, giving reeadings as well as papers. Only a couple of big names,
including Heaney. But the rest of us got to do our thing too, Tony Lopez,
Re: Sounding, various others. Plus tremendous food & drink.
I confess that, aside from Liz Lochhead, the poets here named don't really
excite me, especially as related to the theme.
But then, they can't invite Sappho can they, eh? (Nor Phyllis Webb,
although she is still alive).
