I was in Melbourne last weekend and spent most of yesterday dealing
with one of life's little dramas.
I have also been having a great time, last night and Monday night, in
the company of the list's very own Mark Weiss, who also read last night
at a local reading - always good to hear the voice with the poem -
great stuff. Then a couple of us kept him up over a late desert and
coffee up the Cross, yakking about poetry, San Diego, the vagaries of
translation etc. He flies out today back across the dateline.
Cheers,
Jill
