Took a go at the first stanza only Irish and English. Oh my God it is
midnight! I wanted to do more, but didn't want to postpone the joy of having
at least one go at it.
Sweet dreams

Blíđur er árblćr,
blíđ er dags koma,
fylgja henni tónar
töfrafullir
árvakra fugla,
sem er eyrna lyst.
blúire aráin, ba léir
blúire, dath comh maith
filiocht, aonach, tóin thar ceann
tofacht, rudaí difriúila
ár bhfaca tú ugach
ar an liosta
bit of bread, it was clear
bits, color as well
poetry, feis, head over heels
excellence in many varieties
have you seen encouragement
on the list

Subject: Translations project, #2
Can't resist this idea. So here's another text for your delectation. Another
translation cha-cha-challenge. Hope you'll all pounce upon it like sharks
upon a bloody liver. At least I'll love it if you do. After receiving
several attempts I'll post the very curiously twisted source of this. Yes,
you guessed it, it's a translation.
Blíđur er árblćr,
blíđ er dags koma,
fylgja henni tónar
töfrafullir
árvakra fugla,
sem er eyrna lyst.
Blíđur er röđull,
ţá er breiđir hann
austan árgeisla
á unađs foldir,
yfir grös, eikur
og aldini,
sem ţá deig glansa
fyrir döggfalli.
Blíđur er sá ilmur,
sem upp af jörđ
eftir regn rakri
rauk í blóma.
Blíđ er kvöldkoma
í kćlu mildri,
og hljóđlát ríma,
međ helgum sér
fagurrödduđum
fugli ţessum.
Og međ mána ţeim,
er svo milt lýsir,
međur gimsteinum,
er glóa svo
hvervetna himins
á hvelfingu,
stjarna fjölfylktu
föruneyti.
Best
