Hi ANny,

Thanks for bringing up The Bacchae and The Expulsion from Paradise. Ah yes,
very apt, but Anny, it was warm around the Mediterranean where the shedding
of clothes happened quite naturally, and possibly still does. Getting
butt-naked in this climate is something of a feat, characterised by
intensive shivers. (And subjects tend to shrink from the cold too, re The
Saga of Grettir the Strong). Duchamp's Nude descending a Staircase probably
was moving, but if he'd painted that one up here, the work would have been
called Nude Shivering on a Staircase. Is this perhaps out-patricking
Patrizio? Nono, he's inimitable.
