Theme "Critical motivations and new dimensions"
As an official pre-conference for the ICSID Design Congress, the
ICSID 2nd Educational Conference invites the world design educators'
professionals and students to Hanover. Under the theme "Critical
motivations and new dimensions" The conference aims to explore the
rising issues and emerging directions within the industrial design
education framework. During the 3 days, the conference will
investigate today's educational challenges and opportunities and how
they might shape the future of education and the profession through
lectures, discussions and workshop sessions.
We hope that students will have and take the opportunity to meet
teachers and peers from abroad and those professionals will be able
to exchange views extensively on all matters of joint concern to
their work.
With great pleasure I invite you to take part in the ICSID 2nd
Educational Conference as a presenter or participant.

Call for Papers
The organizer publicly calls for papers to be presented in the
conference. The papers should be related to the main theme of the
conference. Following is a list of areas that the organizing
committee considers to be relevant:
Educational goals - training or study, knowledge base, credibility of
design field, under-developed - over-developed environments,
cooperation or competition.
Educational levels - undergraduate, graduate and post graduate
education, primary and secondary, further design education in other
frameworks.
Educational methods - teaching, working, learning, simulation,
realization tools and aids, distance learning, dependent or
independent studies, individual, group, mass tuition.
Educational Content - advanced technologies, traditional skills,
necessary and desirable, social, managerial, communicational skills
and qualifications.
Applications - education for professional practice, educational
practice and research, social, cultural, ecological, and
administrative activities.
Internationality - localization - globalization, exchange programs,
equivalence.
Administration - public and private education, funding, resources
management, full-time or part-time staff, teacher qualifications,
cooperation with the business world, intellectual property rights,
accreditation
Panel membership
An international panel will review the submitted papers to select the
final presenters and to recommend the form of delivery - papers on
some topics will be presented in plenary sessions, others may be more
suitable for alternative presentations like poster presentation.

Submission
Not more than 200 word Abstracts in Ms-Word format should be
submitted to (see address in the website). Please ensure that the
title and author details are included. (Please follow the guidelines
for abstracts).
After refereeing the abstracts the authors will be notified and will
be required to submit full papers (not more than 3000~5000words) in
MS-Word format for the final review.
