Dear Colleagues,
The past week has brought a surprising number of requests. It seems
that I may have failed to respond to one or two queries ... if you
have asked for a copy and you did not hear back from me, please drop
me a reminder.
If you missed the original note, I have compiled guide and workbook
on scholarly and scientific writing for my research students. I have
been thinking of publishing it. At this time, I am sharing copies
with those who wish a copy for their own use or for use with their
students on a trial basis.
The compendium consists of a cover document and sixteen chapters on
different aspects of scholarly research and writing. The compendium
is divined into four parts.
The first part covers writing in general and writing scholarly and
scientific articles.
The second part discusses reference and citation style.
The third part involves reviewing articles for refereed journals.
Since articles published in scientific journals are generally
reviewed, an understanding of the referee process help authors to
understand how to write better articles.
The fourth part has two valuable articles on how to develop a
scholarly and scientific career.
I will be asking those who use the guide to answer a few questions
If you would like a copy sent as email attachments, please send an
