Dear Colleagues,
A correction and a footnote.
The correction involves Le Corbusier. I was conflqting
two Corbusier structures. I am at the La Touette pirory
outside Lyons. The chapel here is the spare chapel
designed by Corbusier himself. The chapel decorated
by Matisse is in the church at Ronchamps.
There seems to be some confusion on whether I met
my own standards for referencing in a recent post.
The purpose of a reference is to permit any reader to examine
the information for himself on any issue of substance. I will add
a discussion of references and their uses in my theory notes
to alleviate any confusion there may be on this issue.
In this case, every reader of this list has complete access to
the entire series of exchanges on the JISCMAIL archive. I
provided the refererence. Just go to the JISCMAIL archive.
Each month contains all contributions posted in that month.
These can be organized by date, thread, or author. In this
case, all one needs to do is to click on author and read for
Rosan Chow.
It is also possible to use the superb JISCMAIL search engine to
find all contributions by any author all the way back to the
start of the list.
It is understood that when we can place a book
or article in someone's hands, the complete artifact will
not require further reference. In this case, all readers have
access to the complete information and a search engine to
use it effectively.
Now, back to the chapel.
Yours,
Ken
