HQs now screened as per all other potential new employees and only seen
if a pre employment medical/ assessment required, as suggested from the
screening
No routine reports requested as per Allitt report now (we previously
obtained a report from the College and not GP unless specific health
issue, then a GP report was obtained) but, obviously, if any definite
history declared on a HQ, this is followed up as per all other
applicants

Can I ask the list if those working in the NHS still obtain GP reports
regarding issues of past or current mental health issues, in particular
those
entering nurse training following the Allitt recommendations.
I am aware new recommendations are around but wonder what other Trusts
do
with regard to obtaining these reports, which at present take up a
significant
amount of time (both ours and the new employee) delay clearances, cost
money,
and often don't give any vital information.
Thanks
Glenn
