Play me! Watermans Art Gallery. 19/7/03 - 3/8/03 (attached invite)
"Play has always been very strong element of human culture. Johann Huizinga in his book Homo Ludens (The Playful Human), subtitled: 'A Study of the Element of Play in Culture', says that the liberation of man's ludic potential is directly linked to his liberation as a social being. Huizinga predicted that human beings would soon be replaced by machines and robots for work purposes. That there would be nothing left for humans but their feelings, imagination and creativity. All the rest would be done better by computers."
