The Dibble group at SUNY-ESF is re-opening its search for a
postdoctoral research associate to lead a project entitled
"Intramolecular Hydrogen Bonding in Alkoxy Radicals"
The goal of the project is to use laser-induced fluorescence and
multi-photon ionization to determine the influence of intramolecular
hydrogen bonding on the structure, spectroscopy, and excited state
dynamics of alkoxy radicals.
The ideal candidate would have significant experience with
spectroscopy, pulsed lasers, and data acquisition, but talented
individuals with different backgrounds are invited to apply. While this
project involves fundamental research, it is related to ongoing studies
of alkoxy radicals motivated by their critical role in atmospheric
chemistry. Therefore, this project represents an excellent opportunity to
learn about fundable topics in atmospheric chemistry.
This project involves a collaboration with Dr. Joseph Chaiken
of Syracuse University, which is located just across the street from
SUNY-ESF.
