With apologies for cross-postings
Department of Chemistry, University of Leeds
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Atmospheric Science
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the group of Dr.
Dwayne Heard as an Instrument Scientist to operate the Leeds FAGE
instrument for the measurement of OH and HO2 radicals. The position is
funded by the NERC Universities Facility for Atmospheric Measurements
(UFAM), and runs until 31 March 2006. The successful candidate will
oversee the day-to-day running and field deployment of the Leeds FAGE
instrument, together with developmental work to improve aspects of its
performance. The FAGE instrument is based on laser-induced fluorescence
(LIF) detection of OH at low pressure, using a state-of-the-art solid-
state laser system. Experience with lasers would be an advantage but is
not essential.
