SCOPE:
This international symposium is one in a continuing biennial series of
conferences (the last one was held in 2002 in Going, near Kitzbühel,
Austria)) which seeks to promote the growth of scientific knowledge and
effective exchange among scientists in the field of atomic, molecular,
cluster and surface physics and related areas. The symposium deals in
particular with collisional interaction involving electrons, photons,
atoms, molecules, clusters, ions and surfaces.
REGISTRATION AND FEE:
The conference fee for the regular participants will be 650 EURO and
includes besides the regular registration fee also accommodation (on the
basis of double occupancy) and board (breakfast and dinner) for the five
days of the symposium (from dinner of February1st to breakfast of February
6th).
Single rooms (i.e., a double room for single use) are available at an
additional fee of 250 EURO (conference fee 900 EURO).
In addition, a limited number of rooms for students (triple occupancy) at a
reduced fee of 550 EURO will be available.
(Lunch is available at an additional cost of 12 EURO per day).
Please complete the enclosed registration form and return it by e-mail to
the conference secretary ([log in to unmask]) or by air-mail by 15 July
2003. The second Announcement will be sent in September 2003 only to those
who have pre-registered by this form. The registration fee should be paid
to the bank account of the form before the 15th November 2003; after this
deadline an additional amount of 50 EURO will be charged.
SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS:
All papers, invited and contributed, will be published in a "Book of
Conference Proceedings", which will be distributed to all participants at
the beginning of the Symposium. The individual camera ready contributions
should not exceed 4 (four) pages including figures. The size of these pages
should be A4 (210x297 mm or 8.5x11") and a margin of 25 mm should be left
clear on all four sides of these pages. These abstracts may be submitted
either by mail or by e-mail (as attachment) using a Word document or Rich
Text Format.
DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION:
The Abstracts (of contributed and invited lectures) must be received by
the local organizing committee before 15 November 2003.
PROGRAM AND PRESENTATION OF PAPERS:
There will be several invited talks covering the topics of the Symposium.
Contributed papers will be presented in poster sessions. These provide the
main forum for presentation of new work and for discussion of recent
progress. Each contributed paper will be allocated a poster board of 150 cm
(height) x 100 cm (wide). Prior to the official poster sessions there will
be introductory sessions which will give the authors of each contributed
paper the opportunity to present orally highlights of their work presented
on the poster in one minute (1 to 2 viewgraphs).
A few contributions will be selected for oral presentation as Hot Topics.
Further information on SASP 2004:
It is the aim of this Sympsium to bring scientists together in a relaxed
kind of atmosphere who are working in the above mentioned scientific fields
and who at the same time enjoy skiing (down-hill, cross-country, snow
mountain spectacular views (La Thuile is located under the Mont Blanc),
swimming). Thus a typical day schedule of this symposium (with lots of
physics and lots of fun in the snow - 150 km of slopes down to La Rosiere
in France) will be as follows:
7:30 Breakfast
8:30 - 10:30 Lectures
10:30-11:00 Coffee break
11:00 - 16:00 Skiing or other leisure activity in- or outside of the Hotel
16:00 - 16:30 Coffee - Tea break
16:30 - 19:00 Lectures
19:30 Dinner
21:00 …… Posters
The participants will all be accommodated at the Planibel Hotel (4 Stars
Hotel) and the sessions will all be held in the Hotel conference room. Ski
tickets are to be paid separately (subject to number of days, age, etc).
Ski equipment can be rented on site. Possibility of 10% discount both on
ski tickets and rental equipment is available for the participants. Very
important: The Hotel is located at only 30 meters from the
chair-lifts/gondola, and you can return skiing to the Hotel.
