With regard to Alan Vickers' post "what is Dolerite ?" According to Rutley
Dolerite is:
An igneous rock with (and here I quote) " dominant Felspar, no
quartz..... Dominant calcic plagioclase + pyroxene with or without olivine."
"Dolerite, fine grained, in dykes and sills"
Hopefully that makes things clear (!).
