To All who replied to this, Thankyou!
My German is actually virtually zero, but I used, dare I say, a calculated
interpretation of what little knowledge I have of it!
So, we have determined the name interpretation without doubt I think, but it
still begs the question of 'who were they'!
It seems to me, by language interpretation anyway, that they were an early
company - pre. 1914 I feel? They were certainly prominent and large enough to
have a London base (& others maybe), so they were, at whatever period,
actively seeking business in the UK and elsewhere. At a complete guess, I
wonder whether they might have been a subsidiary of Krupp???
As to Employers Liability, this is something I have never given thought to
before, and it is interesting to get a seemingly common date of 1883 - or
thereabouts. It is interesting to see that it was not a compulsory issue when
the Act was passed, but I wonder when it became so?
As to Ropeways (in whatever shape or form), we seem to have gone quiet on new
information?! I do hope that someone might write something on this
interesting subject, and whatever I have I will be pleased to make free with
same - p.graphs. etc., etc..
Regards to All, Bernard.
