Not a new subject in mining circles; Agricola gave the subject
consideration and concluded:
"Therefore a miner, since we think he ought to be a good a serious man,
should not make use of an enchanted twig, because if he is prudent and
skilled in the natural signs, he understands that a forked stick is of no
use to him....."
PHG Richardson notes that a commercialy made set of diving rods known under
the trade name "The Revealer" was in use at Great Rock at Hennock, Devon.
