---Apologies for cross postings---
Dear Colleagues,
We would appreciate it if you could bring the following under the attention
of students (or anyone else who might be interested):
In September 2003, the Department of Theatre, Film, and Television Studies
at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth launches a new MA in Audience and
Reception Studies.
The MA is the first in its kind in the UK, and focuses on different ways to
study audiences of film, television and other media. The course is
consciously designed to be relevant not just to the areas of media and
cultural studies, where audience research has mainly been developed, but to
other areas - such as literary studies, drama and performance studies,
museum and heritage studies, and so on. The course weaves together close
examination of existing research, with the development of practical research
skills (design questionnaires, interviews, use of internet), to be used both
in and outside academia.
