4th Pearson Memorial Lecture
The Fourth Pearson Memorial Lecture will be given by Professor John
McIlwaine of University College London on Tuesday, 15th July, at 12 noon,
in the Main Lecture Theatre, Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies,
Stocker Road, University of Exeter, Exeter EX4 4ND. For a map of the

The title of the lecture is:
“Crossing the bibliographical Sahara: uncertainties in the relationship
between the bibliography of the Middle East and North Africa and of Africa
South of the Sahara”.
The lecture is open to the public and all are welcome.
The Pearson Memorial Lectures are given in memory of Professor James
Douglas Pearson, Professor of Oriental Bibliography in the University of
London and former Librarian of the School of Oriental and African Studies,
and are sponsored by the Middle East Libraries Committee (MELCOM -UK)
