Dear Information Specialist
We are pleased to announce that the BMJ Publishing Group Ltd subscription rates for 2004 are now available on the BMJ Journals Library
Resource Centre at http://www.bmjjournals.com/subscriptions/libraries.shtml
BMJ Journals
We have revised our site licence pricing structure for 2004 to better serve the institutional market. The new pricing structure for BMJ Journals will
make it easier and more cost-effective for institutions to benefit from online access. The new online pricing includes only three categories of FTE -
small, medium and large. By eliminating the X-large category and linking the online and print/online subscription to each individual journal print
price, the net effect will be a reduction of the online subscription rate for the majority of journals.
Group 1 and 2 price bands will disappear. All online subscriptions are based on the individual journal price. For those institutions that select a
print/online subscription, the print journal is priced as a minimal add-on, based on the publication frequency of the journal.
Please note: Print only subscriptions do not include full text online access.
BMJ PG is further holding the 2004 exchange rates in North America at US$1.6 to the pound to maintain an equitable exchange rate.
Clinical Evidence
2004 pricing for Clinical Evidence includes:
Personal, student and nurse subscriptions (all include online access at no additional cost).
Institutional print only rates.
Institutional online rates for two licence options: FTE licence & concurrent user licence. Institutions purchasing on FTE licence are entitled to
significant discount on print subscriptions.
bmj.com
Access to bmj.com will remain free to all throughout 2004.
However, in 2005, after ten years of being free to access, bmj.com will introduce a limited charging structure for some of its content.
2005 will also see us introducing COUNTER compliant usage stats along with off site licences similar to those for the BMJ Journals.
We are currently developing a new pricing model that we will endeavour to make both equitable and reasonable.
