UKOLUG, the professional body for users and developers of electronic information resources, have added 2 events to their recently announced Spring programme of meetings and events at location across the UK.
These are 'I'm an information professional.... Get me out of here!' scheduled to be held at CILIP headquarters in London on Tuesday 8th June 2004. Speakers include, Karen Blakeman, Director RBA Information Services and Online 2003 deputy conference chair and Phil Bradley, Internet Consultant, Trainer, Web designer and Author for this day session which includes management of e-mail, e-documents and web based information.
Also a Reference Management Day is now pencilled in for Wednesday 23rd June 2004 at Adept Scientific, Letchworth, Hertfordshire to be taken by Tracy Kent, the Social Science Liaison Librarian at the University of Birmingham and UKOLUG committee member
The diverse new programme already announced includes a Web Development Day with 2 half-day seminars on Usability testing/Blogs and Wikis (12th February - London), a topical seminar on Information Architecture (3rd March - London). A Content Management System Selection and Implementation course (18th March) in Edinburgh and a Belfast-based day on Current Legal Issues in Information Work (6th April) are also scheduled. Other events, including a Reference Management day in June, are in preparation.
