First Announcement Indoor Air Quality 2004 Meeting

The 6th IAQ Meeting will take place in November 2004 (dates are to be
announced) in the beautiful city of Padova (Italy) at CNR-ISAC, where
Dario Camuffo and his research group are inviting you to discuss the
latest developments in IAQ research.

Since the first gathering in Glasgow 1998, the meetings have always
served to foster relationships, encourage collaboration and update
attendees with details about current research in IAQ. We have come to
understand much more about the interaction between materials and
airborne pollutants. The area of interest has spread from carbonyls,
hydrogen sulphide and diffusion tubes (Glasgow 1998) to models,
guidelines and particulate matter (Norwich 2003). Much of the knowledge
we have gained has been brought together in Jean Tétreault’s book
‘Airborne pollutants in museums, galleries, and archives: risk
assessment, control strategies, and preservation management’, which will
be available from CCI in 2004. Perhaps the time has come where, besides
our usual topics of prevention, detection, and mitigation of pollutants,
we should target the complexity of interaction of IAQ with other
environmental factors. Finding ourselves at CNR-ISAC, an important place
in indoor climate control, will certainly stimulate the thoughts!

Reserve November in your diaries to come to Padova and start getting
stressed about presenting your IAQ research. Check the Conservation
DistList, the CNR-ISAC website (www.isac.cnr.it) and the IAQ website
(www.iaq.dk) for more details. The call for papers and information about
registration, dates, costs and accommodation will become available early
2004.

With the best wishes for the festive season and a rewarding 2004!
