Research Assistant Posts
Overcoming Barriers to Healthy Eating: Fixed term contract for 28 months
Full-time post; Salary £15,144 to £19,719 per annum.
Applications are invited for this 28 month post conducting research into
overcoming barriers to healthy eating in ethnic minorities on a
multi-stage project funded by the Food Standards Agency. The study
involves investigating dietary behaviour and associated psychological
factors in ethnic minority groups using questionnaires and focus groups.
The results of these investigations will be used in the development and
evaluation of a community based dietary intervention. You should have a
good degree in psychology and expertise/experience in quantitative and
qualitative research methods. An MSc in health psychology would be an
advantage. The post would be suitable for a health pychologist wishing
to register for stage 2 training in Health Psychology, for which
supervision fees would be waived, and/or a research degree, for which

Pain Coping in Haemophilia: Fixed term contract for two years
Part time post - 21 hours (3 days) per week; Salary £15,144 - £19,719
pro rata per annum
Applications are invited for this two-year, part time (.6) post
conducting research on pain management and pain coping in haemophilia,
in collaboration with the UK Haemophilia Society. The research includes
a needs assessment, qualitative studies of patients' experiences, a
large scale questionnaire survey, and a prospective evaluation of an
information and advice intervention. You should have a good degree in
psychology and experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research
methods. An MSc in Health Psychology would be an advantage. The post
would be suitable for a health psychologist wishing to register for
stage 2 training in health psychology, for which supervision fees would
be waived, and/or a higher research degree, for which university
registration fees would be waived. There may also be opportunities for
