Senior GIS Consultant: ADAS Environment Modelling and GIS Group
We need an experienced person to join the Group to further the integration
of geographical information systems and environment models in support of
catchment and landscape scale studies. Holding a senior position, the
successful applicant will manage and provide technical leadership to GIS
consultants within the group. A strong team player, the successful
candidate will be expected to provide support to existing commercial and
research based GIS projects and direct the development of the capability,
working with other senior staff in business development opportunities.
With a degree in Geography, GIS or a related discipline, and preferably a
postgraduate qualification the candidate will have demonstrable experience
of applied GIS in multi-disciplinary environmental research projects.
Expertise in using ESRI GIS products, the possession of GIS based
programming skills and the ability to produce interfaces for GIS are
essential. Demonstrable programming expertise in a high level programming
language will be regarded favourably.
ADAS is a leading research based consultancy for environmental and
agricultural land management in England and Wales. The ADAS Environment
Modelling and GIS Group, based in the Wolverhampton Research Team, carries
out applied research and strategic consultancy on agri-environment issues,
most notably relating to the interactions of land management and diffuse
pollution, and the delivery of decision support systems to government and
industry. The Group members have backgrounds in applied environment
modelling, GIS development, soil science, hydrology and software
development.
Salaries will be in the range £17,500 to £30,000 depending on
qualifications and experience.
