Dear everyone,
I am a doctoral student at the University of Turku in Finland. My main subject
is Cultural studies/Comparative Religion, and my doctoral thesis deals with
Somali immigrant women in the city of Turku (in South-West Finland).
In constructing the theoretical framework of my study, anthropologist Mary
Douglas’ ideas about human body as metaphor of society, purity and pollution,
and different kinds of boundaries (moral, embodied, spatial etc.) are
important points of departure. However, I am not aware of research done in
Britain (OR ELSEWHERE) with help of these theoretical thoughts. Could you
please help me to find this kind of research done in gender studies,
anthropology, refugee studies, social/humanist/cultural geography, study of
religion, etc?
Thank you for your help,
Best wishes,
Anu Salmela
