Thursday 3 April 2003, London (FULL)
Wednesday 9 April 2003, Sheffield
ASSET UK is a partnership of organisations led by the Refugee Council, which
has gained ESF and match funding to take part in EQUAL - a European
initiative testing new ways of combating discrimination in the labour
market. ASSET UK's focus is to address the social and vocational
integration of asylum seekers.
NIACE is holding a series of regional seminars to raise awareness, inform,
collate and promote good practice and identify needs in working with asylum
seekers. Particularly in relation to education, training, employment and
volunteering.
Each event will have a regional perspective, identifying regional
strategies, services and projects which relate to asylum seekers. Speakers
will be invited from national, regional and local organisations. There is
no charge for attendance.
These events will be of interest to practitioners, managers and policy
makers in the fields of education, training, employment and community
regeneration. They are open to voluntary and statutory organisations; the
Social Partners; local and regional bodies.
