This might be a bit too off your intended track, but Barbara Hammer's
recent documentary _Devotion_ is about the Japanese filmmaking collective
Ogawa Productions. Hammer's intention was to revisit 1960s politics by
considering what happened to collective filmmaking in a very interesting
case, that of the radical documentarist Ogawa Shinsuke and his group. You

Of course, Ogawa's own films, especially the late Sanrizuka films (Heta
Village) and the Yamagata work (Furuyashikimura) are all about community
and collectivities.
