More comatose rubbish: _Regarding Henry_, and some Steven Segal movie whose
name I can't recall.

Awakenings was directed by Penny Marshall, who learned her craft from
her years on Laverne and Shirley. Need I say more?
While You Were Sleeping was directed by Jon Turtletaub, the helmer of
Cool Runnings and Phenomenon, two more pieces of rubbish.
One really excellent film that uses the hero-in-a-coma riff as a jumping
off point is Cronenberg's The Dead Zone.
There are literally dozens of telefilms that work some variation on the
character-in-a-coma theme. If you are that obsessed, you could go to the
Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) and do a search for plot, using
the word coma. Unfortunately, you will turn up a few films that don't
exactly fit; my favorite was The Cowboys, in which they "fight off
Comanches."
Incidentally, the Michael Crichton film "Coma" isn't about people in a
coma. Well, it feels like you're slipping into a coma while you watch,
it but that's not a plot element; ostensibly it's a thriller.

Cry later, but for now let's enjoy the laughter.
